Who is hot in Japan/America? Japanese singer/song writer "Hikaru Utada"

In previous entry titled "What's hot in Japan? American Enka singer "Jero White"", I wrote about American singer who is becoming famous in Japan. Here, I would like to write about Japanese singer becoming famous in the states.

Recently, I was reading a newspaper and, I found an article about one of my favorite Japanese singers- Hikaru Utada and, I found out that she has started concert tours in the states and has appeared on American TV shows such as "Early show" and she is getting famous in the states. In fact, I have found that American idol host Ryan Seacrest has blogged about her on his site, and called her "Japanese Madonna".  So, who is Hiaru Utada?

Hikaru Utada was born in New York to record producer (father), and Enka singer (mother) and she was raised in Tokyo,Japan. She is a singer/song writer and she writes lyrics of her own songs, and sold more than 52 million records world wide.

The first song I have listened to and the one that made me become a fan of her is titled "First love". The song was huge hit in Japan and it became the song that made her name known big in Japan and earned nickname "hikki" as Japanese fan call her.The song was so catchy and her voice is unique and once you listened to it, the music tone would not get out from your head.

A song released in the states is titled "Come back to me", and again, very catchy and hard to get the song tones out of my head.

The song released in the states "Come back to me" is a song that all lyrics is written in English. It is nice that everyone who does not speak Japanese can sing the song with Karaoke this way and can understand what the song is about, but I would love to see her sing in mixture of Japanese and English just like songs released in Japan and became mega hit such as "First love".
