Two Kenyan Guys: Fainting goat

Do you know how many countries in the world? According to about.com website , there are 195 countries in the world, and out of 195 countries, 192 countries are member of United Nations.

Each country has its own tradition and their culture and experiencing some of those are priceless and enrich your view of things. At the same time, if you stay at local families in the area you will be visiting, they can learn your culture, and you can become a bridge over the two countries:yours and theirs.

The other day, I was flipping the TV channels and came across interesting TV show titled "Two Kenyan Guys" on National Geographic channel. It is about two Kenyan guy: one from Maasai tribe, one from Samburu tribe, visit America to learn more about American culture.

The episode I have watched was about their trip to Texas. They have learned how to ride a horse, how to herd the cows by riding on their horse, how to play football, how to cheerleading, and ate lots of BBQ. They also helped wildlife rescuer to catch a raccoon family under a house, and visited goat farm nearby where they stayed .. This is where I could not believe my eyes watching goat fall onto side. Have you seen goat fall onto side when they get scared? That was my first time to see it.

Turned out there is a breed of domestic goat called "Fainting goat". According to wikipedia site, when fainting goat gets scared, their muscle stiffen up and they fall to side, and be like that for 10 seconds or so. The fainting goat has gene called myotonia congenita, and that is the cause of the fall.

You can read more on Fainting goat at wikipedia page here .
