Salmon run;Bears,Eagles,Wolves

Many people are accustomed to see bears catching jumping salmon as if catching the Frisbee with mouth by standing in the river. It is amazing to see how well they catch the jumping salmon with mouth. It is also amazing how high salmon can jump and how they find their river they were born after spending years in the sea.

I came across youtube video on bears catching salmon in the river.  Did you know that salmon travel back to the river using their sense of smell?

According to pbs website, article says, shortly after salmon is hatched, baby salmon would memorize the unique chemical signature of their birth stream, and they follow the smell back after spending years in the sea.

You can read full article on salmon run at pbs website here.

When you look at salmon's life cycle, it is very interesting. They hatch in the river and, swim out thousands of miles to the sea, spending years and they will come back to the river they were born surviving through all obstacles such as bears, wolves, eagles to lay their eggs.

Bellow is youtube video I came across on Eagle catching salmon.
