Palette’s note: Greek Biscuits (wild- caught salmon biscuits)

When you pick up treats for your dogs, what would you look at? Ingredients? Fancy looking pictures? Description of the products? Have you ever wondered if you could actually see how other dogs are enjoying them? Not pictures, but in video so that you can actually HEAR and feel the treats’ textures?

Some of you may have already recognized I have been putting up treats’ video on youtube so that people can hear the sound, see Palette in action and get more detail on products.

With “Palette’s note” series,I like to put taste test videos. This time, “Greek Biscuits 4 oz “.

Greek biscuits blog

Greek Biscuits..

Greek Biscuits are Wild caught salmon biscuits made with gluten free/grain free Garbanzo bean flour. They are easy to dog’s stomach.Garbanzo bean is the beans commonly used to make hummus with.

This biscuits are crunchy, nutty treat for your dog.We knead in chopped wild-caught salmon with skin, and bake these to pawfection.

For us, ingredients is most  important aspects, and we use wild- caught salmon. We do not use farm raised salmon.

As reasons why we do not use farm raised salmon are..

1. they are fed dyed red fish feed to make their meat artificially redder than actually is.Even then, color of the fish meat is very different if you compare side by side with farms raised salmon vs wild-caught salmon. Farm raised salmon is paler almost pinkish than wild-caught salmon.

2. they receive vaccinations or antibiotics to be healthy

The wild- caught salmon is great source for higher amount of Omega3 (good for skin and coat),and they are high in protein and low in fat .This is our salmon biscuits with a little bit of Greek flare with all the goodness in one nutty crunch.

Biscuits will be made to order, freshly baked approx 12hours before shipping time. All will be vacuum-packed to seal-in the freshness.

Please store this biscuits in freezer for longer shelf life inyour air-tight zip bag after receiving your order.

Biscuits size is1.5inches.

Our biscuits are without butter, egg, sugar, honey, salt, fruits, vegetable, artificial color, or any other fillers, many doggy biscuits have. Also, our biscuits are free from preservatives including natural preservatives such as mixed tocopherols(Vitamin E). Our stumpy k9 executive chef “Palette” start chewing paws when she gets treats with mixed tocopherols.

Some dog bakeries might add Rosemary oil as natural preservatives but we don’t. If it was eaten by E.P.I. dogs, that treats could become a trigger for seizure.

Some dog bakeries might add flax seed for Omega3, but we don’t. Dogs utilize animal based matter much better than plant matter. Plus Flax seed needs to be grind right before being  consumed.Otherwise,it would loose potency. Then,if the flax seed is heated in the process of making the products, how well the potency will be… Then again, some dogs get itchy when they eat treats with Flax seed…

Also, you may notice our biscuits would not come with colorful, cute frosting such as biscuits dipped in yogurt frosting or carob frosting. There is reason for why we don’t.

If the biscuits were dipped in yogurt coating, then, what the dog bakery might have done is to melt the Yogurt chip and dip it but what the Yogurt chip is made out from??1st ingredients in the Yogurt chips is SUGAR!

And carob(substitute for chocolate for dog) frosting? If bakery use melted carob chips to dip the biscuits in,then 1st ingredients is SUGAR! There is unsweetened Carob chips but I found out many places seem to prefer to use sweetened carob chips. We know dogs have sweet teeth..

So, overall, even if better-looking dog biscuits on the market looks better, you may want to read the label first. If I ever use vanilla extract,I rather use REAL vanilla beans. If I wanted to give bacon treats to Palette, then,I would give REAL bacon, not commercially made treats with artificial bacon flavor.

We believe that treats should be minimally processed without artificial ingredients; No sprinkles,No sugary frosting, no artificial colorings etc..

We bake more canine type of biscuits rather than sweet sugary biscuits with minimum ingredients. As you see, key flavor ingredients are “REAL” stuff. You can see chunk of key ingredients. Please compare ingredients of our treats to other bakery’s ingredients. We put all ingredients as list for every products and you can be sure what really are in the products.

Our biscuits are lab tested, and registered with department of agriculture.

Ingredients: Garbanzo bean flour,water,wild-caught salmon with skin on,baking powder, guar gum, extra virgin olive oil for browning.

Let’s watch Palette in action with Greek biscuits taste test.

Can you see Palette really really adores this salmon biscuits “Greek Biscuits”? Can you hear how crunchy the biscuits is? Our Greek biscuits is not dense biscuits, not crumbly biscuits. It is nutty, crunchy biscuits.

Palette taste test every batch we bake (she is a quality control officer, aka k9 executive chef),and she gets always one more extra to have fun with. How she gets fun with biscuits? Here is how.

When biscuits come out from oven, she is usually right behind me for taste test. After biscuits got cool down a little, and taste test finished,I pick one biscuits, and grab one empty cereal box and put biscuits in. Then, close it up,let Palette play with it.

Some of you may familiar with Buster cube which spits out kibble out from hole while dog is nosing at it. I was inspired by that toy and,I made inexpensive home-made buster cube for Palette to play with. It can be inexpensive  interactive toy too.

You can watch how Palette works on her Baguette Biscuits (Grass-fed buffalo liver biscuits) in the box here .

In case you are wondering about the fate of the box that had baguette biscuits, it was tore up and she played with
it like you might already have seen on our previous entry;Exercise;Palette’s way.

One small empty box can provide Palette so much fun.

In the video above, when she went hide under the blanket, her face was peeking out but when it was performed better, it would look like this.

Palette goes hide on cue..

I wanna do that again! Say “Who’s there?”, please?

Umm…I am waiting…

Maybe mom has forgotten I was here still…

Mom; Who’s there?

Palette; I knew you would say that again! Biscuits, please?

Mom; Ok, just one more and done,ok?

Palette; Sorry, I thought your thumb was part of the biscuits, bol
