Amazing high jumping Greyhound "Cindy"

In the previous entry titled "Have fun with your dogs;Agility ",I wrote that when Palette and I have fun together, we play all kinds of fun games such as "Find it" game,"Find the toy" game,Fetch ball/Frisbee, and "weave pole"; one of the obstacles in the sports called "Agility"..

 What is Agility?

Agility is a canine sports that dogs goes through all kinds of obstacles with direction of handlers such as tunnels, A shaped obstacle called "A frame", dog walk, weave pole, jumping bars, teeter etc..and compete the time to finish the course, and how precisely completed the each obstacles.

It is very exciting to watch team work of one handler and one dog and also exciting to see performance of the dog going through the obstacles.

Mom caught me playing with weave pole..

The other day, I was rolling up Palette's towel to use to teach her to jump on cue, and made it higher, and higher as she understood what the jump cue "over" meant. She puts this huge grin on her face and excited for the little game we played and, she had a blast with the jump game.

Then, other time, I was sitting on the bottom of the stairs when she comes running up to me. She jumped over me and landed at 4th steps of the stairs. One thing that amazed me was she jumped over me sideways!

That got me thinking how high dogs can jump? Can you guess the number?

 How high dogs can jump?

Turned out highest canine jumper in the world, who hold the Guinness world record is the Greyhound named "Cindy". She broke the previous Guinness world record at Purina Incredible Dog Challenge competition with double bar spread high jump that was set at 68"!!

High jump Guinness world record for humans is with Joyner-Kersee and she got the title with 72".

  Isn't it amazing?

Let's watch her in action. I came across her youtube video where she broke the previous Guinness world record with double bar spread high jump.
