Palette's note:Star Spinner Dog puzzle toy
Have
you ever wondered if you could actually see how other dogs are enjoying
the products before purchasing one?
Not just pictures,but in video so that you can actually SEE how the products are being used? I have started series titled "Palette's Note", which you can read about products detail and see video clips from Palette's taste test.
This time,it is not about treats. I like to put out detail on Star Spinner Dog puzzle toy.
Star Spinner Dog Puzzle Toy...
Star Spinner Dog Puzzle Toy is fun interactive food base puzzle toy that let your dogs to "think" to play.
This puzzle toys is about 10" star that hide treats in 10 chambers (5 chambers in each level) in the puzzle and spins in either directions to reveal the treats.
To play, you will hide the treats in all or selected chambers in the puzzle toy. Then,your dogs are to use eyes,paws, muzzle etc to spin the puzzle to reveal the treats inside the puzzle toy.
These food based toy are also good to teach the impulse control; dogs sit,you will place the toy on the floor, and if your dogs tries to stand up to nose at it,paws at it, don't put the puzzle toy on the floor yet and tell them "wait".
Then,you will try again to put the toy on the floor and if they kept "sit-wait" cue, put the toy on the floor and give about a few seconds or so of waiting time,and give them a release cue from "wait".
With your release cue, they can start working on the Star Spinner Dog puzzle toy to have fun.
Even if when you feed your dogs using the dog bowl, same impulse control training can be practiced over and over everyday.
Our K9 executive chef "Palette" always sit and wait for a few seconds before moving towards treats/food or toys like this until she hears the release cue from "wait" from me.
Personally, I am a big fan of Interactive toys and,I usually do not tell her how to play with it, just letting her figure out by herself. I enjoy watching "Palette" figuring out how to get the hidden treats out.
For our k9 executive chef "Palette", this toy was not a difficult toy to solve but, if you do feed kibbles, I can see you can use this toy as feeder and let your dogs to have fun using the meal time.
Using this toy as feeder would be especially good for dogs that tend to eat food fast.

As you can see, she enjoys her Star Spinner Dog Puzzle Toy. She is very good at nosing it to move the puzzle to reveal the treats.
When she first tried this toy,she has experimented to see if using her mouth would give her treats faster or using her nose/paws to spin the puzzle toy would reveal the treats faster.
Later,she decided to use her nose because she figured out that the nosing the spinner can reveal the treats much faster.
Since hiding treats in front of her and let her play the puzzle is a little easy for her, often times, I let her wait on one spot in a room and I take the toy with me to go hide the puzzle toy that has several hidden treats inside.
Then, I come back to her and say "Go find it!" and she goes looking for the toy with treats. It is extra fun for her
Also, it is fun to put empty box upside down on top of the puzzle toy to make the access to the puzzle harder.
Dogs require exercise,both physical and mental. Interactive toys are great one to keep your dogs stimulated mentally.

with paws..
Can I spin this thing with my paws??
1.2.3...paw exercise for the yummy!
And nose..
Now I found out that using my nose to push this thing is much faster way for me to score my nibble
